Answers before you choose your pathway
What is medical coding?
Medical coding translates information documented in healthcare records into standardized diagnosis, procedure and service codes. Training connects medical terminology and anatomy with coding conventions, documentation review and practical exercises. The coding systems and depth you study depend on your programme.
How do I start a medical coding career in India?
Start by discussing your educational background and career goal, then compare course prerequisites, syllabus, delivery mode, fees and assessments. Build your knowledge through training and practice. If you choose external certification, plan that separately. After training, complete your candidate profile and review employer requirements before applying for suitable opportunities.
Who can join a medical coding course?
Medical, paramedical and life-science graduates can enquire about suitable programmes. Non-life-science graduates and career changers can also ask admissions to review their background. Course admission and employer hiring eligibility are separate; each programme and employer may have different requirements.
Which course should I choose: Advanced Medical Coding or CPC preparation?
Advanced Medical Coding develops practical coding knowledge and requires a discussion of your existing foundation. CPC Exam Preparation focuses on preparation for the external Certified Professional Coder examination. Share your anatomy, medical terminology and coding background with admissions so you can compare the current syllabus and expected starting knowledge.
Can I learn medical coding online from anywhere in India?
Yes. Sarah & IMI offers online medical coding training across India, alongside classroom and college batch options. Confirm the next available batch, live class timetable, teaching language, device and internet requirements, materials and support arrangements before enrolling.
What are the medical coding course fees and duration?
Check the live course catalogue for the current price and ask admissions for the duration and teaching hours of your specific batch. Request a written breakdown of training, materials, books, assessments and any separate external examination charges. Do not assume a quoted training fee covers professional certification.
Does completing the course make me CPC certified?
No. Academy course completion and professional certification are separate. CPC is an AAPC credential with its own examination and applicable requirements. Use AAPC’s official information to confirm current eligibility, registration, membership, books, fees and credential requirements before booking an examination.
How can I ask questions about the syllabus or a difficult topic?
For questions before admission, contact the team with your background, preferred programme and the topic you want clarified. Enrolled learners can bring specific questions from their lessons and assessments to their assigned trainer through the batch support arrangements. Confirm the support channel and availability with your trainer; this page does not promise an instant or round-the-clock tutoring service.
How do assessments connect to placement preparation?
Training and assessments help learners identify subjects that need more practice. Complete the required academy work and confirm your course status with the team. Eligible completers can then continue through the connected placement workflow using their existing profile. Assessment marks alone do not guarantee a job or employer selection.
Do you provide medical coding placement assistance?
Yes. Sarah & IMI has placement pathways for eligible academy completers, approved college batch completers and candidates trained elsewhere. The process includes candidate profile completion, management review and recruitment progression. Read the placement page and the service terms for your route before registering or paying.
Can I register for placement assistance if I trained elsewhere?
Yes. The placement-only route lets already-trained candidates register without buying an academy course. Complete your profile and review the service fee, eligibility review, recruiter consent and terms in your dashboard before paying. Registration does not mean an employer has offered you a position.
Is a medical coding job or salary guaranteed?
No. Placement assistance supports your job search. Employers decide eligibility, interviews, hiring, salary, work location and joining dates. Compare the requirements of each opportunity with your education, certification and experience rather than relying on a general salary claim.
How can a college arrange medical coding training?
Colleges can enquire about an offline campus batch, student enrollment, trainer-led classes, attendance and assessments. After approved course completion, eligible students can progress into the placement workflow. Contact the team to discuss student backgrounds, delivery arrangements and the proposed timetable.
How can employers connect with medical coding candidates?
Employers can apply for an HR account. Approved accounts can explore eligible candidate profiles under the published access terms and candidate consent settings. The employer page explains the application route; candidate registration is not a guarantee of availability or suitability for every vacancy.
